1. Information We Collect
WhatsApp Account Access
When you connect your WhatsApp account, you log into our system as a linked device. This allows us to send automated messages on your behalf, including order confirmations, abandoned cart reminders, fulfillment updates, and customer service responses.
We process WhatsApp messages in real-time but do not store message content. We only access your WhatsApp account for sending automated messages and do not interact with your personal chats, media, or contacts.
Order & Customer Data
We collect information from your Shopify store, including customer phone numbers, order details, cart contents, and order statuses to send appropriate automated messages at various stages of the customer journey.
Usage Data
We collect basic app usage data, including message counts for billing purposes, connection status, and error logs to enhance performance and provide support.
2. How We Use Your Information
Automated Messaging
WhatsApp Automation uses your WhatsApp account as a linked device to send automated messages to customers throughout their shopping journey. Although we have access to your account, our interaction is strictly limited to processing and sending automated messages.
No message content is stored, and no other WhatsApp data (conversations, media, contacts) is accessed or retained.
Data Security
All communications between your WhatsApp account, our servers, and Shopify are encrypted using secure protocols. Your WhatsApp data is used only for its intended purpose and is never shared with third parties.
We follow industry-standard security measures, including encryption and secure data storage.
3. What We Do NOT Store
We do not store:
- WhatsApp message content (messages are processed in real-time only)
- Your personal WhatsApp conversations
- Media files (images, videos, documents)
- Contact lists beyond order-related customer data
- Any data not essential for automation functionality
4. Customer Control
You have full control of your WhatsApp account:
- Disconnect your WhatsApp account at any time from the app
- Delete the app from your Shopify store, and all access to your WhatsApp account will be revoked immediately
- View message counts and connection status in the app dashboard
- We do not retain any personal data after disconnection or app deletion
5. Data Sharing
Shopify
We access your Shopify store data through Shopify's API, subject to Shopify's Privacy Policy and API Terms. We only access data required for app functionality.
WhatsApp/Meta
Messages are sent through WhatsApp's Web protocol. Subject to WhatsApp's Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. Message content is end-to-end encrypted by WhatsApp.
Payment Processing
Subscription payments are processed by Shopify's billing system. We do not store credit card or payment information.
We Do NOT:
- ×Sell your data to third parties
- ×Use your data for advertising
- ×Share customer data with other merchants
- ×Store or analyze message content
- ×Access your WhatsApp beyond what's necessary for automation
6. GDPR Compliance
If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), you have certain data protection rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR):
- Right to Access: Request access to the personal data we hold about you
- Right to Rectification: Request corrections to any inaccurate or incomplete personal data
- Right to Erasure: Request deletion of your personal data under certain conditions
- Right to Restrict Processing: Request a limitation on how we process your personal data
- Right to Data Portability: Request a copy of your personal data in a structured, machine-readable format

7. Data Retention
- Store Data: Retained while the app is installed
- Usage Data: Message counts retained for billing purposes (current and previous billing cycle)
- Session Data: Deleted immediately upon disconnection
- After Uninstall: All data deleted within 30 days, except billing records required by law (retained for 7 years)
8. Your Responsibilities
As a merchant, you are responsible for:
- Obtaining customer consent for WhatsApp messages
- Complying with privacy laws in your jurisdiction
- Providing customers with opt-out options
- Maintaining your own privacy policy
9. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted with a new "Last Updated" date. Significant changes will be notified via email.
Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
